What are the Side Effects of Cellcept in Minimal Change Disease?

Cellcept, which is also called Mycophenolate Mofetil, was used originally in the management of patients with organ transplants, but it is recommended to treat some autoimmune diseases now. Therefore, it is commonly used by patients with minimal change disease (MCD). Although it can suppress the abnormal immune system activity and control the disease, it may also have some side effects.

Because cellcept has the function of suppressing immune system, and when people get a poor immunity, they are more likely to get infections. Therefore, if patients with MCD take cellcept, they will increase the risk of getting infections. The common signs of infection include fever, tiredness, headache and redness of skin.
