Doing These 4 Things Uremia May be Reversible

No Shortcut to Kidney Disease Doing These 4 Things Uremia May be ReversibleIn the face of their own diseases, many kidney patients were confused. Could not be cured, had to take medicine life long, need to make contact with the hospital in the rest of their life, and even had to beware of the onset of uremia. The patients go toward the future with almost no hope.

In fact, this kind of thinking is too pessimistic. Even if chronic kidney disease is difficult to cure, there are many things the kidney patients can do to stop the progress of kidney function and avoid uremia. If you haven't done all these things, it's too early to hold such an idea.

In order to actively delay damage the kidney function during the treatment process, the kidney friends must remember the principle of “2 to do and 2 not to do” and do these 4 things well:

Patients with kidney disease must achieve "two need".

First, we must strictly abide by the principle of kidney disease diet.

The kidney friends may have a deep understanding. Whenever they go to review or stay in hospital, the doctor or nurse will ask you about how well you have insisted the renal diet, because it is really important to control the diet.

The key is only 2 points: low salt and low high-quality-protein diet. Controlling these two factors can achieve twice the result with half the effort for treating two indicators: albuminuria and hypertension.

Low salt diet requires less than 5g of salt intakes per person per day. Patients with edema and massive proteinuria should be controlled below 3g. The source of high quality and low volume protein intake is mainly from milk, eggs and meat. These foods contain animal protein, high quality protein. The limit of protein intake for per kilogram of body weight is 0.5g-0.7g per day, and dialysis patients are controlled at 1-1.2g per day.

Kidney patients must take appropriate intakes according to their own conditions, avoid excessive intake which can aggravate the condition or take too little intake to cause malnutrition.

Second, we must strictly follow the doctor's requests and take the medicine according to the condition.

In treatment of kidney disease, the patients usually use a lot of drugs, such as hormones, immunosuppressants, antihypertensive drugs, hypoglycemic drugs, lipid lowering drugs, antibiotics, diuretics, anticoagulants and so on.

Patients with kidney disease must strictly follow the doctor's orders when they take drugs, so as to avoid the occurrence of drugs intakes with wrong dosage and time.

Insist on 2 not to do:

1. Do not stop medicine or change medicine by yourselves.

This is the most taboo point in the treatment of kidney disease, and it is also the behavior of some patients. The development of nephropathy is rather complicated. Each patient has the different medicines due to the different disease types and different severity.

Therefore, it is not reasonable for some patients to abandon their original drugs without authorization, or change to use the drugs showing good effects on other patients. It is likely to lead to an aggravation because of no use on time medication or medication errors. When the renal function accelerated to uremia, regret is too late.

2. Never give up yourself.

We should be confident, believe in ourselves and trust our doctors. Although chronic kidney disease can not be cured, we can do the best to delay the progress of renal function, avoid the deterioration of the disease, and ensure the quality of life. As long as taking medicine correctly and reexamination on time can restore normal life.
