Pay More Attention To The Acute Nephritis

2018-09-12 10:20

To most kidney patietns they often are confused what the acute Nephritis is,for the nephritis is always a chronic disease,it can not affect the patient’s normal life at first, but if it is the acute onset that will lead to the great damage to kidney function, then we must pay more attention to it in advance.

Acute glomerulonephritis is a group of primary glomerulonephritis with acute nephritis syndrome as its main clinical manifestation. It is characterized by acute onset of disease, hematuria, proteinuria, edema and hypertension, which may be accompanied by transient azotemia and has a tendency of self – healing. It is common after streptococcal infection, but other bacterial, viral and parasitic infections can also be caused.

Symptoms of acute nephritis

Acute nephritis is more common in children and men. The incubation period is equivalent to the time required to induce the organism to produce immune complexes after the first immunization of the pathogenic antigen, and the incubation period of respiratory tract infection is shorter than that of skin infection. The onset of the disease is urgent, the severity of the disease varies, and the mild cases are subclinical ( only abnormal urine routine ); The typical case is acute nephritis syndrome, and the severe case may have acute renal failure. Most of the patients have a good prognosis and can recover in a few months.

The typical symptoms of this disease are as follows:

1. Hematuria and proteinuria

Almost all patients had glomerular hematuria, and about 30 % of patients had gross hematuria, which was often the first symptom of the disease and the cause of the patient’s visit. It can be accompanied by mild or moderate proteinuria, with about 20 % of patients presenting with proteinuria within the scope of Nephrotic syndrome. In addition to red blood cells, urine sediment also shows an increase in white blood cells and epithelial cells in the early stage, and may have granular cast and red blood cell cast.

2. Edema

Edema is often the first manifestation of the onset of the disease. Typical manifestations are eyelid edema in the morning or mild concave edema of the lower limbs. A few serious cases can affect the whole body.

3. Hypertension

Most patients have transient mild and moderate hypertension, often associated with sodium and water retention, and blood pressure can gradually return to normal after diuresis. A few patients may have severe hypertension or even hypertensive encephalopathy.
